Due to the commotion of the holidays, I didn't actually get started until after New Year's. With the help of my dog, Bubba, my first step was to torch off the beat-up front clip and remove the roll cage.
The 302 was going to be pulled out, and measurements had to be taken to see how the 460 was going to fit.
I removed the body from the frame, straightened it out and applied primer.
After getting the engine in the correct location, I temporarily set the body back on the frame to check how it fit, and then built the 1 7/8" custom headers, and fabricated the mount for the Griffin aluminum radiator and the Flex-a-lite cooling fan.
I installed the fiberglass one piece front clip from Malotte mfg, along with door inserts and fender flares.
I designed the front clip to tilt forward, and used dune-buggy style high-low beam headlights.
I disassembled the whole thing again to get ready for paint.
